Flounder fishing action is good at Bullshead & Green & Drawing Channel. Fisherman are catching good numbers of flounder a few keepers.
Chuck Riddleberger on Saturday fish the wrecks and caught 2 nice keeper flounder. One weighing 7lb 1oz. and another 5 pounder.

Fall flounder fishing has not picked up yet. Flounder being caught but not many keepers.
Seabass fishing closed.
Red Drum and Spot being caught in the surf off Parramore.

Sorry fishing reports have not been posted as it has been slow inshore because of weather. Inshore they are picking up some flounder but most are under size. They are also catching some Sea Bass and Flounder on the offshore wrecks. As of today Oct. 5th Sea Bass season is closed for 6 months.
Offshore action this past week was pretty good with Marlin and Wahoo and even a few yellowfin tuna in the mix. Caught at Norfolk Canyon.

Weather this past week was unfishable. The weekends weather
allowed most fisherman to fish. The water was a little muddy with all the rain and wind so the fishing was a little slow. There were a few flounder and croaker caught. Offshore at the Canyons billfish were still abundant. The Marlin Magic came in again with 3-White Marlin releases and dolphin.

Inshore bottom fishing fisherman have found a mixture of fish. Flounder, Croaker, Spot, Trout & Kingfish. They are bringing in some nice big croaker. The flounder are smaller with a few able to find a keeper.
Offshore wrecks are providing some nice Sea Bass and large Flounder. Looks like the wrecks are the place to go for the large flounder.
In the Canyons this past weekend boats were able to pick up alot of Billfish & Dolphin but the Tuna did not make a show.
Capt. Bill Tyson on the "Marlin Magic" went offshore to the Washington Canyon on Saturday. He had only 1 angler onboard. Bob Edmonds from Portsmouth, Va was able to land 4 White Marlin & some nice gaffer dolphin.

Inshore fishing for flounder remains good near Cedar Island, Parramore Island and inside the Inlet, fisherman are finding a few keeper flounder. Croaker fishing at Green and Drawing Channel & Seal Creek has been very good with Croaker up to 17inches being caught. In front of Cedar Island there is a mixture if croaker, spot, flounder and kingfish are being caught.
Offshore action is slow with some Billfish being caught at the Canyons. Dolphin and false albacore being caught inshore.
Offshore wrecks are producing good amounts of Sea Bass and some large Flounder.
Lets hope this cool spell brings in the cooler water temps and improves offshore fishing.

Flounder & Croaker fishing remains good with the big croaker being caught at Green Channel. The flounder are still being caught at the inlet and across from the the old Parramore Coast Guard Station and in front of Cedar Island.
Offshore action has been slow with some Billfish being caught in the Canyons.

Results from 16th Annual Chic Charter Club Ladies Tuna
Tournament:
1st Place Tuna-51.8lbs caught by Debbie Traugh from PA.
on the "Teaser" with Capt. Keith Neil
Only one tuna was caught during the tournament. There were several Marlin caught(white & blue).
Largest Dolphin-18.0lbs caught by Debbie Traught also.
The Teaser was the hot boat for the weekend. Also caught were False Albacore, dolphin & bluefish. No Wahoo were caught.
Inshore the Flounder & Croaker action is great with trout mixed in.

Flounder fishing is still good. Alot of fish being caught, & a few keepers. The croaker have moved in at Green & Drawing Channel and out near Cedar Island.
Offshore in the Canyons boats are catching nice gaffer dolphin, White Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna.

Inshore action on flounder & croaker remains good in front of Cedar & Parramore Island.
Offshore action on Billfish this past weekend in the Eastern Shore Marlin Clubs Annual Billfish release Tournament. Tuna, Dolphin & Wahoo were also caught.

Offshore action on the big Bluefin Tuna was good. Capt. Zeds weighed in several citation fish over 100lbs.

Offshore action on 26 mile hill & the crotch have been good this week. William Hamilton on the "Rewster" registered a 125 lb Bluefin with Capt. David Rew on Wed. Benjamin Andrews on the "Often" registered a 153lb Bluefin with Cap. Ernie Eckenrode. Some nice gaffer dolphin are also being caught.
Inshore the flounder catch is still good with alot of fish being caught and a few keepers. The croaker have also started to move in.

Flounder fishing action remains good with alot fish being caught and a few keepers. Also the croaker have started moving in and kingfish.
Offshore action was great over the weekend, with bluefin tuna, dolphin & King Mackerel being caught on the 26 mile hill. Most were able to keep their 1 under and 1 over 47in.

Bill Peake from the "Twin Peake's" brought in a 139lb Bluefin Tuna on Thursday caught on the Lumpy Bottom. This was the first of the Big Bluefin's weighed in. The 26 mile hill is also been a spot for bluefin and dolphin.

Flounder fishing action remains very good with alot of fish being caught. Fisherman able to keep a few keeper flounder. The best spots are still in front of Cedar Island and across from the old Parramore Coast Guard Station. Croaker are also starting to show up.
Offshore action on the 21 & 26 Mile Hill are showing good numbers of Bluefin Tuna. With alot of fish being release as fishermen keep their limit. Also nice gaffer dolphin & spanish mackerel on the hills. Lumpy Bottom and the Crouch has show alot of nice gaffer Dolphin.

Offshore action on 26 mile hill heating up. The Hammond's on the "Sinbad II" kept 2 Bluefin Tuna and released 4.

Flounder fishing action is fantastic. Charter Boats are catching from 75 to over 200 fish per trip with a few keepers. They are also starting to pick up a few croaker. Look for the croaker action to pick up any time.
Offshore action this past weekend was also great in the Canyons and at the 26 Mile Hill. Yellowfin Tuna, nice gaffer dolphin, bluefish and bonita mackerel are being caught.

The old Coast Guard Station & across from the old Coast Guard Station has seen some good flounder fishing catches this past weekend. Lots of fish are being caught with a few keepers.
Offshore action has been great, with Dolphin, Yellowfin & Bluefin Tuna & bluefish being caught in Norfolk Canyons and inshore of the Norfolk. Bill Tyson of the "Marlin Magic" on Saturday caught 15 gaffer dolphin up to 20lbs. and 5 bluefish trolling at the Norfolk Canyon. South of the Norfolk several boats caught alot of Yellowfin Tuna.
The Lumpy Bottom has had some nice catches of Bluefin Tuna also.

El Fluko Tournament with a group of people out of Baltimore held their annual flounder tournament this past weekend out of Wachapreague. The largest flounder caught was 21", 5 & 3/4lbs. Angler was Jum Hamilton. Alot of fish were caught by this crew.
Alot of fish are being caught by all anglers and all are bringing in a few keepers. The best places to fish are Green & Drawing Channel, Seal Creek and Millstone Creek.
They are also picking up a few Croakers in the Inlet, along with a few trout & kingfish.
Offshore action is starting to heat up with great numbers of Yellowfin Tuna being caught at the Canyons.
Inshore of the Canyons Bluefin Tuna are being caught.

Flounder fishing is still good with fish moving closer to the inlet and up on the flats. Also caught at the inlet are some bluefish, trout and kingfish. Capt. Zeds weighed in a 5lb 10oz flounder caught by Dennis Wilt from York, PA.
Wreck fisherman are catching good numbers of Sea Bass.
The offshore action is starting to heat up with dolphin, tuna, blue shark, mako's and bluefish showing up.

Flounder action is still good. Fisherman are catching alot of fish with a few being keepers. Best catches are still at Green & Drawing Channel. Fish are moving up on the flats as the water temp. warms up.
Black Drum are still being caught in the surf outside the inlet at Parramore Island and Dawson Shoals.
Red Drum were also caught in the surf outside the inlet with several release citations registered.
The offshore action started this past weekend with John Marsh on the "Hook'Em reporting Dolphin, Tuna and he released a shark.
The wrecks are also producing some nice Sea Bass.

Flounder action this past weekend remain good. Nice quanities of the flat fish were caught with fisherman bringing in a few fish for the table. They have moved up on the flats as well in the same areas and closer to the inlet as the water temp. warms up.
Sea bass action was also good over the weekend.
The surf is still providing fisherman with some nice rockfish and black drum.

Flounder fishing action this week still remains good with alot of catching. Fisherman are able to bring in some keeper flounder. Green and Drawing Channel, Bullshead and the Hummocks and even at Bradfords Channel remain good areas for the Flounder. Capt. Zed's weighed in a Flounder at 6lb 11ozs on Saturday. Wrecks offshore are showing a good supply of Sea Bass up to 3lbs.
The Black Drum & Rockfish catches are great outside the Inlet in the surf off Parramore and Dawson Shoals.

Even with the bad weather on Monday a fisherman came in this morning and reported that he and 2 other buddies had caught about 60 fish and kept 7 flounder and caught about a 20lb Black Drum at Green Channel.

Flounder fishing action over the weekend was great for catching and keeping. Chris Wardius & Jeff Pitts from the shore were able to find 6 keepers. John Askison and his crew from MD brought in a 7lb. 1oz flounder and 7 some more keepers. Buddy Barnes from Wachapreague took a rental boat out and caught about 50 fish and kept 7 fish. Bill Bowen Charters had a nice 6lb 4oz flounder. Jeff Repman from PA weighed in 6lb 3oz. flounder this week on the rental boats
Several locals have ventured out in the surf off Parramore and Dawson Shoals and are bringing in Black Drum and Rockfish.
Frank Large Charters went out this weekend and caught some nice sea bass up to 3lbs.
I was told that there were some bluefish & trout caught this weekend in the inlet.

Flounder fishing action yesterday was great. The best times to fish have been on the out going tide. One of our rental boats caught more than 50 fish and kept 7 fish. A private boat caught 7 keepers plus a citation weighing 7lb 1oz, 27in. flounder. The angler was John Atchison from Burke,Va.
Black Drum action outside the inlet has been great also, with most keeping their limit.
Wreck fishing offshore is also good.

Flounder fishing remains the same with fisherman catching 1 out of 10 keepers, some more.
Black Drum are being caught in the surf off Paramore.
Sea Bass and Tautog are being caught on the wrecks off Wachapreague.

The tournament had great weather over all and good fishing.
Fisherman were able to bring home some keeper fish. The hot spots are still Green & Drawing Channel,Bullshead & the Hummocks
There were reports of seabass & tautog being caught on the wrecks this past week.

The only fish weighed in on Friday was a 6lb 5oz 25in caught by Gene Stalls from MD that took over 3rd place. This makes 7lb 1oz still the leader but the other 4 places are all 6 pounders plus.

There have not been any more large fish registered in the Tournament. There have been some 3 & 4lb fish brought in. Todays wind has kept alot of the fisherman on the docks today. This weekends weather looks great for flounder and fisherman.

There are no more fish that have been registered in the flounder tournament. The standings are the same.
One boat did fish yesterday in the bad weather & caught 39 fish and kept 3 fish.

The flounder fishing has been great. The "Foxy Lady" Charter boat fished Sat. and caught 71 fish and kept 6 fish. On Sunday he caught 74 fish and kept 7 fish. The catching is good with fisherman able to keep a few fish.
The Green and Drawing Channel, Bullshead, & the Hummocks are the 3 top places for fishing.
We did here of a couple of boats venturing off to the wrecks with a report of some sea bass and tautog caught.

The Flounder Tournament started off great with good weather and alot of fish being caught. Besides the top fish of 6lb 12oz 26in. there are alot of 3 to 5lb fish being weighed in.

FLOUNDER ACTION HAS BEEN GOOD WEATHER PERMITING. MOST FISHERMAN ARE BRINGING IN A FEW NICE KEEPERS. CAPT.ZEDS WEIGHED IN A 7LB 9OZ FLOUNDER ON FRIDAY, CAUGHT BY RON BLANKENSHIP FROM BALTIMORE. THE FISH WAS CAUGHT AT GREEN AND DRAWING CHANNEL. THIS COMING WEEKEND'S WEATHER LOOKS GOOD FOR THE START OF FLOUNDER TOURNAMENT.

FLOUNDER FISHING ACTION HAS IMPROVED WITH THE WARMER TEMPERATURES. TWO GENTLEMAN REPORTED TO CAPT. ZED'S THAT ONE DAY THEY CAUGHT APP. 40 FISH AND WERE ABLE TO KEEP 4 FISH. THESE 4 FISH WERE 21 & 22INCHES.

YES THEY ARE CATCHING FISH. FLOUNDER HAVE BEEN REPORT IN WACHAPREAGUE. CAPT. BILL TYSON TOOK HIS OWN BOAT 2 DAYS AND REPORTED CATCHING 2 KEEPERS EACH DAY, WITH 1 BEING 22INCHES.
SO THERE ARE SOME KEEPERS OUT THERE.

ON SATURDAY & SUNDAY CAPT. ZEDS SAW SEVERAL BOATS LEAVING THE DOCK ON THE FIRST FISHABLE DAY TO TRY FOR FLOUNDER.
WE DID NOT SEE ANY FISH BROUGHT TO THE DOCK, BUT RUMOR HAS IT THAT 1-BOAT WAS ABLE TO FIND A COUPLE KEEPERS. HOPEFULLY WITH A FEW MORE WARMER DAYS THE WATER TEMP. WILL WARM UP AND BRING THE FLAT FISH IN. IF WE HEAR OR SEE ANYTHING WE WILL LET YOU KNOW.

ROCKFISH HAVE BEEN CAUGHT IN THE LAST WEEK OFF WACHAPREAGUE.
ON TUESDAY, FEB.24TH IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE FLOUNDER LIMITS FOR 2009 WOULD BE 19INCHES 5-KEEPERS AND NO CLOSED SEASON. THIS MEANS THAT YOU CAN START FISHING NOW FOR FLOUNDER. SO WEATHER PERMITTING THEY SHOULD BE THERE ANY TIME. I LOOK FOR PEOPLE START THIS WEEK TRYING TO CATCH THE FLAT FISH.

Fishing for Strippers remains good, with most fishing outside Quinby Inlet. With the weather warming up I look to see some wreck fishing going on.

We'll the "Marlin Magic" with Capt. Bill Tyson ventured out this morning to try for some Strippers and came back to the dock with 7 nice rockfish. He was fishing outside the Quinby Inlet. The weather was finally gave them a chance to get out. Tomorrow's weather looks even better, so I look for more to try it tomorrow.
